When our story began, we were oceans apart. He was still deployed overseas, and I was on night shift back home — awake in the hours he was awake on the other side of the world. What started as long, spirited debates about politics, cross-branch differences, and military life slowly became something deeper. Through those conversations, we realized we weren’t just passing time — we were finding a rare connection that could withstand distance, duty, and challenge.
Both of us had spent years in military support groups, searching for community and meaning in the tumultuous rhythm of service. What we found in each other was more than community. We became each other’s lighthouses, steady and guiding through even the roughest waters.

That’s why we chose Point Wilson Lighthouse for our wedding. Out of all the lighthouses in Washington, Point Wilson stands where the tides of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound converge, a symbol of strength, guidance, and safe return. For us, it captured exactly what our love means: two lives meeting, guiding one another home.
Our honeymoon carried that symbolism forward as we traced the waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, continuing our journey where the sea itself converges and flows together.

To the staff of Point Wilson Lighthouse: your kindness and hospitality made our wedding unforgettable. You didn’t just host our day — you became part of our story. We’ll forever recommend Point Wilson to others, not only for its beauty but for the light you bring through your care. We’ll continue to support lighthouse preservation, just as we will continue to be each other’s guiding lights, always leading one another home.
With all our gratitude,
Devan and Ciara
