Just a quick note to let everyone know that we are pushing our soft opening of the lighthouse to the beginning of April. With all the work going on at the single story house on site, we have not had time to get volunteers together again, but the good news is that the house is almost ready for overnight guests. This means that we will be able to start generating income in order to complete additional restoration projects. To date, we have spent nearly $20,000 replacing a septic system, performing deferred maintenance to the house and furnishing. The house is 4 bedrooms and 2 baths and larger than we thought actually - to clean and set up. In addition we have been maintaining the grounds, taking down rotten fallen fence posts and even have an artist looking at re-working our sign out front. Internet and television has been brought to the site and we are primed and ready for renters. We'll be putting together another meeting in March so that we can talk about our soft opening and hopefully get volunteers to participate. In addition, we will be initiating an online volunteer sign up form so that you can let us know how you wish to help and when you are available. Lastly, our good friend and artist Rick Henkel made up a wonderful Point Wilson logo which we will be using on marketing pieces, t-shirts, hats, pins - well on everything we create really.
